Confirm the exact model

Select a model confirmation to begin the checks. The full preparation guide is below.

Preparation guide

  1. Make a backup before service. For a Mac, connect the iPhone, select it in Finder → General, select the local backup option, and start Back Up Now.

  2. If using an encrypted local backup, keep its password privately and verify the completed backup in Finder. Keep important synced content separately accessible.

  3. Read Apple’s service preparation page for your installed iOS. Requirements for Find My or repair readiness differ by OS; change them only as the owner following the official service instructions.

  4. Confirm the appointment and bring affected accessories, proof of purchase if available, and ID if required. Never give anyone your account password or device passcode; remain present for software support.

Check the result

  • Keep your backup and credentials under your control. Save a preparation record and check the provider’s final handoff requirements.
  • Contact the provider about data preservation before handing over a phone without a verified backup. This task does not erase data or bypass Find My.

Stop conditions

  • Stop using and charging a swollen or damaged battery. Do not open, compress, puncture, or attempt battery removal. Contact the manufacturer or a qualified service provider.
  • Disconnect a damaged accessory if it is safe to do so. Do not open a mains power adapter.
  • Save accessible data before restarting. Do not reset, erase, flash firmware, bypass a lock, or open the enclosure in this task.
