Preparation guide

  1. Move the Ring/Silent switch toward the display so orange is hidden. Check Settings → Focus → Do Not Disturb and turn it off for this comparison.

  2. Remove removable coverings that block the receiver or speaker. If needed, gently brush only the opening with a clean dry soft-bristled brush.

  3. In Settings → Sounds & Haptics, move Ringtone and Alerts at a comfortable volume. Note whether it plays and whether its speaker control is dimmed.

  4. If the ringtone plays, compare a normal call with speakerphone. Call-only static can involve reception; note whether it changes at a different location.

Check the result

  • An audible ringtone gives a useful distinction from a call-only problem. Record reception and speakerphone differences.
  • No ringtone sound or a dimmed speaker control can require service. Do not infer a part number or replacement from this check.

Stop conditions

  • Stop using and charging a swollen or damaged battery. Do not open, compress, puncture, or attempt battery removal. Contact the manufacturer or a qualified service provider.
  • Disconnect a damaged accessory if it is safe to do so. Do not open a mains power adapter.
  • Save accessible data before restarting. Do not reset, erase, flash firmware, bypass a lock, or open the enclosure in this task.
