USB-C charging checks

Check the original power path on an Intel T14 Gen 2 without opening the case.

Confirm the exact model

Preparation guide

  1. Read the adapter label locally. The manual lists 45 W or 65 W depending on configuration; do not assume every unit needs the same supplied adapter.

  2. Disconnect a dock and use the laptop’s marked USB-C power connector with the certified adapter. Inspect the cable and plugs without opening them.

  3. Read battery status in Windows Settings → System and Lenovo Vantage. Record whether AC power is recognized and whether a configured charge threshold explains a pause.

  4. Save work and compare behavior with a known compatible adapter if available. If power remains unrecognized, bring the laptop and the suspect adapter to Lenovo support.

Check the result

  • Save whether AC was recognized and whether charging behavior matched your Vantage settings. A pause alone does not prove failure.
  • Persistent lack of AC recognition needs Lenovo support. Do not open the adapter or replace the battery from this symptom alone.

Stop conditions

  • Stop using and charging a swollen or damaged battery. Do not open, compress, puncture, or attempt battery removal. Contact the manufacturer or a qualified service provider.
  • Disconnect a damaged accessory if it is safe to do so. Do not open a mains power adapter.
  • Save accessible data before restarting. Do not reset, erase, flash firmware, bypass a lock, or open the enclosure in this task.
