Preparation guide
Check before entering Repair Mode: Confirm Android 14 December 2023 update or later and at least 2 GB available locally. Complete a backup; Repair Mode does not guarantee that repair avoids a reset. Keep the SIM, PIN, password and pattern with the owner.

Enter and hand over: Use Settings → System → Repair mode only when ready for service. Authenticate on the phone privately; do not create a new PIN inside Repair Mode. Tell the provider that data preservation and any reset need discussion.

Exit and check: Exit Repair Mode through the device settings and authenticate privately. Changes made within Repair Mode do not persist after exit. Verify accessible data and repeat camera/charging checks before closing the record.

- Backup checked even when Repair Mode is used
- Provider may still need to reset; owner exits Repair Mode privately
Stop conditions
- Stop using and charging equipment with swelling, casing separation, smoke, a burning smell or suspected battery damage. Do not open or press on it.
- Set damaged accessories aside. Do not open mains adapters or force connectors.
- Do not erase, reset, flash firmware or bypass a lock as a default diagnostic step.
